Sharyn Paul Brusie is a Maine-based painter whose work lives at the intersection of the figurative and the abstract. Her paintings—often featuring people, animals, and places—are deeply rooted in emotional resonance, drawing inspiration from the world around her and her own life experiences.

Raised in Maine, Sharyn holds a BFA from Maine College of Art and a BS in Art Education from the University of Southern Maine. She also studied at Lesley University and attended a summer residency at Rhode Island School of Design. In addition to teaching art for several years, she expanded her creative practice into filmmaking, studying at the Maine Workshops and founding Wonder Dog Films. Her independent films have been screened at festivals across the U.S. and Canada, earning multiple awards.

Sharyn’s paintings have been exhibited in numerous galleries throughout Maine, including several solo shows. Her artistic drive is fueled by passion and obsession. She is committed to pushing boundaries, experimenting boldly across mediums, and exploring new dimensions of texture, movement, and storytelling.

She lives near the water in Maine with her husband, photographer Kevin Brusie, and their beloved chocolate lab. Nature, music, and deep friendships remain essential to her creative life and sense of peace.
